Masters Sound Quartet

Danny Jackson, Jr.

Growing up in the Mississippi Delta lends the ear different styles & interpretations of music, particularly rhythm and blues and gospel. I was exposed early on to the sounds of the Happy Goodmans, The Hinsons, The Statesman Quartet, The Blackwood Brothers, The Cathedrals and others due to my Dad singing & playing for regional quartets. Because my Dad was a minister, he often ministered for black congregations giving rise to my love for soulful inspirational music. It was not until myearly teens, that I developed a love for quartet singing. While in my teens, I involved myself in church music; helping out in my Dad’s church doing whatever was needed like playing the piano, organ or even leading the worship.
In 1995, I was afforded the opportunity to travel with The Steeles, a southern gospel trio. During my tenure there, I enjoyed nominations for favorite male vocalist from Singing News Fan Awards and received Album of the Year Award for 1997.
In 1998, I joined
The Bibletones Quartet from Gulfport, Mississippi as tenor, and in those seven years, made many more friends. I received my Funeral Service License in 2007 and also was named tenor for MastersSound Quartet.
I am happily married & enjoy time with my wife Shelia & our chocolate poodle, Co-Co. Shelia and I worship in our local church, Purvis Church of God, in Mississippi where we are involved in various ministries.

Major Landmarks: I was born on March 27 & I married my beautiful wife Sheila on September 26

Favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 4:19 “And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
